Anxiety

How hypnotherapy can help overcome anxiety

Introduction

Anxiety is an alarm - what is it really trying to tell you? Anxiety is not destiny. It is not weakness. And it is not your mind ‘going wrong’. It is an alarm. The question is: what is that alarm responding to - and why won’t it switch off?

For many people, anxiety is the mind and body’s way of trying to keep them safe. It often develops around an old belief, emotional pattern or learned response, usually formed much earlier in life for a very understandable reason. But like a faulty fire alarm, it may be responding to a blaze that is no longer burning. And it can leave you feeling stuck in overthinking, panic, dread or constant alert.

How RTT can help with anxiety

Rapid Transformational Therapy® (RTT) for anxiety uses hypnosis and deep relaxation to access the subconscious mind — the part of the mind where automatic beliefs, emotional associations and protective patterns are stored. Rather than simply managing symptoms at surface level, RTT aims to uncover what may be driving anxiety underneath. Because the good news is, that if a pattern was learned, it can also be changed.

Why anxiety can feel so hard to shift

Many people with anxiety are thoughtful, intelligent and self-aware. They often know logically that everything is ‘fine’, and may already understand a great deal about themselves. Yet their body still reacts as though something is wrong. That is because anxiety is not driven by the logical mind alone. It is often rooted in the subconscious mind and nervous system, which is where hypnotherapy comes in. Hypnotherapy for anxiety can help bridge the gap between what you know consciously and what your system still believes, by working directly with the unconscious mind.

What hypnotherapy for anxiety may help with

RTT and hypnotherapy may be helpful for:

  • general anxiety

  • panic attacks

  • overthinking

  • social anxiety

  • health anxiety

  • work-related anxiety

  • fear of being trapped, stuck or out of control

  • driving anxiety or travel anxiety

  • constant worry, dread or hypervigilance

During hypnosis, you remain aware and in control, but deeply relaxed. In this state, the mind is often more open to insight, change and new emotional associations.

Working with anxiety at the root

At the heart of anxiety there is often a subconscious belief such as: I am not safe, I have to stay in control, I must always be on guard, or something bad is about to happen. These beliefs are rarely chosen consciously. They are learned early, often for good reason, and then repeated until they start to feel like facts. RTT helps bring those beliefs into awareness so they can be understood, updated and replaced with something more supportive.

RTT for anxiety at Zadeh Therapy

I work with people who may appear to be coping on the outside, but privately feel anxious, overwhelmed or stuck beneath the surface. Many of my clients are self-aware people who may already have tried talking therapy, reflection and insight, but still feel caught in the same anxious pattern. RTT can be especially helpful for those who want to understand the root of what is happening and create change at a subconscious level.
